ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Drivers and bus riders along Richmond Highway should brace for two weeks of construction starting Monday, as the City of Alexandria begins maintenance work on the corridor’s Bus Rapid Transit lanes.
The work, scheduled May 11 through May 25, will close the BRT lanes on Richmond Highway/Route 1 between Swann Avenue and Glebe Road. Bus stops in the work area will be temporarily relocated to the regular travel lanes, where signs will mark the new locations through the end of the project.
