Man who shot at agent returning to prison for drugs, guns

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A Grand Rapids man who spent time behind bars for opening fire on a federal agent is heading back to prison for peddling cocaine, fentanyl and tramadol while also having guns he was not supposed to have.

The string of crimes attributed to 24-year-old Jaquari Trotter happened just three months after he was released from prison for shooting at a federal officer on the Southeast Side of Grand Rapids.

“His conduct in this case demonstrates a continued disrespect for the law and an ongoing threat to our community,” federal prosecutors argued in a sentencing memorandum.
