Grand Rapids-area girls track leaderboard heading into conference championship meets

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – The top track and field athletes around Grand Rapids will compete for championship hardware on Friday, when the six divisions of the OK Conference, along with the River Cities Alliance, hold their league championship meets.

With regionals set to take place next week, Friday’s conference finales provide athletes with an opportunity to build some confidence heading into postseason competition, and the Grand Rapids area features several runners, throwers, jumpers and hurdlers that should contend for state championships on May 30.

Among that elite group are several athletes that are currently ranked No. 1 in their division in their respective events, including Wayland’s Evie Mathis in the pole vault, GR Christian’s 400-meter relay team of Nenfot Darshak, Nenrit Darshak, Taylor Frost and Daelyn Jones, Holland Christian’s 3,200 relay team of Eliana Stob, Annika Stob, Ellery Lampen and Layla Geurink…
