Flash Flood Warnings Hit 1.5M in Louisiana

Flash flood warnings were in effect on Friday afternoon across Louisiana, affecting areas home to an estimated 1.5 million people due to slow-moving thunderstorms.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued multiple flash flood warnings covering 14 parishes. Meteorologists warned that rainfall rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour could quickly overwhelm drainage systems, with some areas already reporting flash flooding.
