DRIFTWOOD, Texas (KXAN) — The remnants of a deadly head-on crash in January remain present on FM 967 in Hays County. And it’s a daily reminder for Driftwood resident, and mom of three, April Mayrath.
“There are lots of young families and teenage drivers on the road, and we’re just very concerned that these fatalities, unfortunately, will keep happening if we don’t do something about widening the road,” said Mayrath.
Since 2019, there have been three deadly crashes on FM 967 between FM 1826 by the Salt Lick and FM 1626 in Buda. For most of this stretch, FM 967 is just one lane in both directions…
