Stonebriar Centre in Frisco requires adult supervision for minors on Saturday afternoons

DALLAS (KRLD) — Stonebriar Centre in Frisco is rolling out a new temporary “Parental Guidance Required” policy that requires guests under 18 to be accompanied by an adult age 21 or older every Saturday starting at 3 p.m.

The rule takes effect this weekend on May 9 and remains in place until closing. Trained public safety officers will check IDs at all mall entrances. One supervising adult may accompany up to four minors and must stay with them at all times while inside the shopping center. Anyone who appears under 18 and cannot show proof of age will need an adult escort to remain on the property.

Mall officials say the policy responds to recent disruptive gatherings of unsupervised youth. They describe it as a precautionary step taken out of an abundance of caution to keep the environment safe and peaceful for all shoppers. In a statement, the center noted, “We request that all guests and employees respect our Code of Conduct so that we can maintain a safe, peaceful environment for the entire community.” The measure is expected to be temporary.
