Mississippians gather for 75th National Day of Prayer

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The 75th annual National Day of Prayer brought Christians from across the state to the Mississippi Coliseum on Thursday for a day of worship, fellowship and prayer for communities across the state.

Organizers said the event focused on unity, healing and faith, especially as many Mississippians continue recovering from recent severe storms.

Cameron Tate, executive director of Bridging the Gap Outreach Ministries, said prayer remains a powerful way for people to come together during difficult times.

“We’re coming together just to pray, just to seek the face of God,” Tate said. “If my people humble themselves and pray and turn from their wicked ways, He said He will hear from heaven and heal the land. So. we gather because we believe in prayer.”…
