Heat advisory issued as Modesto braces for weekend temperature spike

Modesto is expected to see a steady rise in temperatures into the weekend and early next week.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for parts of the Central Valley. In Modesto, it will be in effect from 11 a.m. Monday to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Monday is the hottest day in the seven-day forecast, with a predicted high near 99 degrees.
