Stockton man indicted by federal grand jury for being felon in possession of sawed off 12-gauge shotgun

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – A federal grand jury indicted a Stockton man on Thursday for being a felon in possession of a firearm, months after he was granted compassionate release from prison on claims he was dying and no longer able to care for himself.

The United States Department of Justice says that 57-year-old Steven Refugio Rodriguez of Stockton was charged after deputies found a sawed-off shotgun inside of his vehicle during a traffic stop.
