A 9,000-square-foot penthouse planned as part of the Ritz-Carlton Residences with an asking price of $30 million is under contract, months before construction is to begin on the Uptown luxury hotel and condominium tower.
If sold at or near its asking price, the off-market deal could represent a record-setting price for Houston’s luxury real estate market, across publicly known transactions. To date, the most expensive home sold through Houston’s Multiple Listing Service was a Memorial-area mansion for about $20 million in 2022, according to the Houston Association of Realtors. The priciest condominium sale ever recorded on the MLS was a residence in the Huntingdon tower in River Oaks that had a closing price between $6.7 million and $7.8 million in 2024, according to HAR.
