Bullets Fly On Davison Ramp As Driver Says Car Was Hit Near I-75

Michigan State Police troopers are probing a tense gunfire report on Detroit’s Davison Freeway ramp to I-75, after a driver said someone in another vehicle opened fire on her car Friday and left it visibly damaged. No one was hurt, but the ramp briefly turned into an active investigation as troopers shut it down to search for evidence.

According to MLive, the Detroit Regional Communications Center took the call and sent troopers to the Davison ramp. Responding officers said the suspect vehicle was described as a gray passenger car. During their initial sweep of the area, they did not find any shell casings on the ramp. The ramp from East Davison to I-75 was temporarily closed while investigators worked the scene.

What troopers are doing

Michigan State Police spokesman Mike Shaw told MLive that troopers are leaning on technology and physical evidence to sort out exactly what happened and who was involved. “Troopers are continuing to use technology in the area as well as other evidence to identify the suspect vehicle and determine what occurred,” Shaw said. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and digital records as part of the ongoing probe. No arrests have been announced so far.

How to help

Michigan State Police are asking anyone who knows something to say something. As CBS Detroit notes, tipsters can reach state police at 855-MICH-TIP or contact Crime Stoppers at 800-SPEAK-UP. Troopers are also urging drivers to steer clear of confrontations on the highway and to report suspicious or aggressive driving right away. Any preserved dash-cam video or nearby surveillance footage from the Davison and I-75 area could be especially useful to investigators…
