14-year-old girl, 2 men dead in head-on collision on I-40 East in Sampson County, troopers say

NEWTON GROVE, N.C. (WNCN) — Interstate 40 has reopened as troopers investigate a crash that has left three people dead early Saturday morning in Sampson County.

An alert from the North Carolina Department of Transportation notified drivers that I-40 East was closed around 2:45 a.m. due to a crash near exit 343 for U.S. Highway 701.
