CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Chesapeake fire crews responded to a fire at 7:42 p.m. Saturday at Woodspring Suites on 1708 Sentinel Drive in Chesapeake, following a report of smoke on the fourth floor.
Multiple calls were followed by activation of the hotel’s fire alarm system. Firefighters arrived on scene at 7:44 p.m. and confirmed that smoke was coming from inside the hotel and that a sprinkler had activated in a fourth-floor room.
The sprinkler system held the blaze to the room of origin.
