BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Nursing has always been a passion for Serena Sanford, and now her daughter is hoping to carry that torch for the next generation of nurses.
Sanford is a Baton Rouge native and had big dreams to follow in her grandmother Serena’s footsteps to become a nurse.
“She would go to Baton Rouge General Mid-City. And I would always go with her, but I couldn’t go upstairs because I wasn’t 12 yet. That was rude back then. And so when I made 12 and I got an opportunity to go upstairs and I looked in the nursing station, and all the nurses were carrying me around and things like that, I was like, I just felt at home,” Sanford said…
