Freeport School District names two new principals

The Freeport School District has appointed two new principals for the 2026-27 school year.

Aimee Kasper will lead the Early Childhood Learning Center, and Amber Lee-Black will head Jones-Farrar, according to a community announcement.

Kasper started career in Freeport

Kasper has more than 20 years of experience in education and instructional leadership. She currently serves as assistant superintendent of curriculum, instruction and assessment in Crystal Lake School District 47, where she has led curriculum initiatives and expanded access to early childhood programs.

She began her career as a kindergarten teacher in Freeport School District and has expertise in curriculum development, multilingual learning and data-driven instruction.

Lee-Black joins from Elgin

Lee-Black is the assistant principal at Larsen Middle School in Elgin, where she oversees special education compliance and discipline systems. She spent 11 years with Rockford Public Schools as a teacher and administrator, specializing in data-driven decision-making and staff coaching…
