21-year-old Delano man killed in solo-vehicle Woollomes Avenue crash identified

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified a Delano man who died after CHP says he lost control of his truck, crashed into trees, and was ejected from the vehicle on Woollomes Avenue as 21-year-old Marcio Ramon Mejia Sanchez.

The California Highway Patrol said on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at around 7:48 a.m., officers were called to a crash in the 31100 block of Woollomes Avenue, near Browning Road.

When officers arrived on scene, they found Sanchez involved in a solo-vehicle crash.

CHP said Sanchez was driving a 2000 Chevy Silverado traveling westbound on Woollomes Avenue at a high rate of speed. For unknown reasons, Sanchez lost control of the truck and hit a series of trees in the orchard, according to CHP…
