Sewer main break contaminates creek in Farragut, officials say to avoid area

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Officials with the town of Farragut say to avoid North Fork Turkey Creek because of a First Utility District sewer main break on Monday.

They said to avoid the creek from Grigsby Chapel Road to the Fort Loudon Reservoir, and no humans or animals should be in or around the water until FUD says it is safe.

Officials with FUD said their contractor damaged a sewer line near the intersection of Grigsby Chapel Road and North Campbell Station Road. They said that this caused a “sanitary sewer overflow,” the damage did not happen during excavation activities and the contractor did not notice…
