Jury convicts man accused of firing shots at deputies trying to arrest him

LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (WAFB) – A Denham Springs man accused of firing shots at deputies who were trying to arrest him has been convicted following a three-day jury trial.

According to 21st Judicial District Attorney Scott Perrilloux, the jury found Faron Dillon, 41, guilty of five counts of attempted first-degree murder of a police officer and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The case stems from an incident on Jan. 3, 2025, on Eden Church Road in Livingston Parish.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team was reportedly trying to execute an arrest warrant out of Lafayette Parish for home invasion and aggravated assault with a firearm when Dillon, a convicted felon, allegedly opened fire on them from inside his residence…
