Pinehaven Bridge reopening delayed to end of May

CLINTON, Miss. (WJTV) – Residents in Clinton will have to wait a little longer for the reopening of the Pinehaven Bridge.

According to the City of Clinton, the anticipated reopening date has been pushed back to the end of May due to remaining construction work. City officials said the project is now in its final stages, with only a few tasks left before the bridge can safely reopen to traffic.

Crews are still working on final road striping after the ground layer fully cures, along with the installation of guard rails. The city acknowledged the frustration many residents have experienced throughout the lengthy closure and thanked the public for their continued patience.

Officials said the remaining work will focus on completing critical safety components before traffic can return to the bridge.
