All 18 holes of Tacoma’s Cedar Irons Golf Club, formerly known as North Shore Golf Course, opened to play earlier this month after a nearly two-year, $7.5-million renovation to the course that included a new irrigation system and a more open, strategic, and playable layout catering to golfers of all abilities.
The project began in November 2024. The renovated back nine reopened to the public in 2025 and the front nine renovation was completed in April, with all 18 holes of the 6,109-yard, part-72 course opening to the public May 1, according to a news release.
Cedar Irons, which dates to 1961, is owned by the Puyallup Tribe of Indians and managed by Seattle-based Columbia Hospitality. Pacific Northwest golf course architect Dan Hixson led the project. The tribe purchased the course in 2016, part of its diverse portfolio of business enterprises…
