Probation home call in Oildale leads to 2 handguns, Billy club and suspected heroin reveal

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Probation officers conducting a home call in Oildale and arrested a man on April 28 after they said they found two handguns, a Billy club and suspected heroin.

On April 28, 2026, officers assigned to the Adult AB-109 Division, Post Release Community Supervision and Mandatory Supervision program went to the 500 block of El Tejon Avenue and contacted Daniel Quilling, who officials said was on active post-release community supervision at the time and had an active felony warrant for his arrest.

A search of Quilling’s body turned up a .22-caliber handgun and a Billy club, officials said. Officers also searched his backpack and found a second handgun, described as a .380-caliber firearm, along with a syringe loaded with suspected heroin…
