I-Team: New questions about city truck involved in big Shoreway crash

CLEVELAND (WJW) – The FOX 8 I-Team has uncovered more information about a city of Cleveland dump truck that crashed into an overhead sign, tying up traffic for hours on the Shoreway.

There are new questions about why the truck that police say caused the accident last week was even on the road.

A Euclid police report shows a city truck driver was “operating defective equipment.” The driver told police he was taking the dump truck to get repaired when the bed of the truck rose on its own. The truck ended up knocking down the highway sign and causing back-ups for hours.
