Notre Dame College was established a century ago in South Euclid by the Sisters of Notre Dame, a German order of Roman Catholic nuns focused on education, community life and serving the poor.
Then a women’s college, all of Notre Dame was originally housed in one Tudor Revival building that in1983 was named to the National Register of Historic Places. Men began attending in 2001, building to 30 majors and an enrollment of 1,106 in 2020.
But like many colleges across the country, Notre Dame dealt with declining enrollment, rising costs and significant debt. It closed for good in 2024…
