BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – The Birmingham City Council approved $250,000 in grant money for City Walk maintenance Tuesday, the second time the city has received funding from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs for the downtown attraction.
The grant comes as officials continue searching for sustainable funding after $4 million in operating costs from the Alabama Department of Transportation expired in 2024.
