CICOA to lay off 90 Indianapolis employees, cites loss of state funds

INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis nonprofit that helps seniors and people with a disability stay out of institutional care has announced employee layoffs.

In a WARN Act notice to Indiana’s Department of Workforce Development, CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions said 90 employees were expected to be permanently laid off by July 31, 2026.

“As a result of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration’s decision not to continue CICOA as a case management provider, CICOA has experienced a loss of government funding and must implement a mass layoff,” the notice read…
