Clydesdales galloping into Knoxville ahead of Savannah Bananas game

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — From Bananas to Budweiser, some of America’s most famous horses will return to East Tennessee as the summer holiday gets underway.

The first opportunity to see the massive eight-horse hitch and red beer wagon will be on Wednesday, May 20, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Food City on Malone Creek Drive in Knoxville. The horses will be part of the Folds of Honor retailer event, which provides scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen and disabled service members and first responders, including police, firefighters, EMTs and paramedics.

Next, the team will be at Covenant Health Park on Thursday, May 21, from 5 to 7 p.m., before the Savannah Bananas Banana Ball World Tour game. This is the first of two games the Savannah Bananas are set to play in Knoxville, with the team taking over Neyland Stadium on May 23.

The Clydesdales will return to Covenant Health Park on Friday, May 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. ahead of the Knoxville Smokies game. The horses will be part of a Folds of Honor donation presentation and a pregame parade. There will also be photo opportunities around the stadium with the Clydesdales.
