Vestavia Hills wrapped up its second straight and seventh overall Class 7A state title at the 78th Alabama High School Athletic Association State Golf Championships on Tuesday at Mobile’s Robert Trent Jones Magnolia Grove golf course. The Rebels shot a 6-under par 282 team total in the final round of the two-day tourney to beat rival Hoover by 19 shots.
Vestavia senior Clarke Brown shot a 5-under 67 to finish 12-under 132 to claim low medalist honors. Henry Brown of UMS-Wright had a 69 on Tuesday to finish second with a 136 total. Brown and S.J. Thomas of 6A Mountain Brook, who had a 64-68 – 132, tied the AHSAA tournament record set by Spain Park’s Chase Kyes in 2025.
