Design plans for Gaslight Village project unveiled in East Grand Rapids as lawsuit pends

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – The public is getting its first look at some of the design plans for a huge development project in Gaslight Village in the heart of East Grand Rapids.

Developers presented the architectural renderings for phase one of the project to the East Grand Rapids Planning Commission on Tuesday, May 12. The first phase proposes to build three new buildings with a total of 40 residential units at 515 Lakeside Drive SE, near the intersection with Reeds Lake Boulevard.

In total, the project calls for the construction of six new housing and commercial buildings. A construction timeline was not laid out by the developers, but Tuesday’s meeting was the first step in the city’s final plan approval process, which begins with the planning commission formally introducing the site plans…
