ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – For the first time since filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the Municipality of Anchorage in February, the family of Alecia Lindsay is speaking on the record. They said their daughter had her whole life ahead of her, speaking on the 911 response they say cost her that future.
“Somebody’s not doing their job,” Randy Kaer, Lindsay’s father, said when asked what went through his mind reading the 911 call log.
Hundreds of pages of records reviewed by Alaska’s News Source show Lindsay, 31, was found outside in freezing temperatures Feb. 8, 2024. A neighbor had called 911. However, the call was classified as a disturbance, not a medical emergency, and no ambulance was dispatched for more than an hour…
