Cohoes man charged with striking Kingsbury credit union, starting nearby structure fire

KINGSBURY, NY (WRGB) — A Cohoes man faces multiple charges, accused in two separate incidents in Kingsbury Thursday morning.

At approximately 4:12 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the Hudson River Community Credit Union on Burgoyne Avenue in response to a building alarm. When they arrived at the scene, deputies discovered that a vehicle had struck the building and that the driver had already fled the scene on foot. A search of the immediate area was conducted with the use of a K9 in an attempt to locate the driver.

As deputies and investigators continued working the scene at the credit union, a separate call came in at approximately 7:58 a.m. for a structure fire involving a small building on Devine Drive, not far from the original incident. When a Sheriff’s investigator arrived at the fire scene, a subject matching the description from the vehicle incident was spotted in the nearby woods…
