Stolen vehicle leads to arrest of two suspects in Auburndale

AUBURNDALE, Florida — A stolen 2015 Toyota Rav4 was discovered at a WaWa store in Auburndale, leading to the arrest of two individuals on Wednesday night.

Units from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and Auburndale Police Department swiftly intervened, blocking the vehicle at the fuel pump, according to a press release from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. The suspects, 37-year-old Juan Hector Mugica of Orlando and 35-year-old Kaycha Lynn Rivera of Bradenton, were detained at the scene.

Rivera reportedly only stated “lawyer” to the deputies, while Mugica claimed, “I was not driving,” despite being observed in the driver’s seat by deputies. Mugica’s driver’s license was canceled in 2013, and he is listed as a habitual traffic offender. Additionally, he was found in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia…
