BOISE, Idaho — On May 13, Boise State’s Office of Communication and Marketing sent students and faculty an update regarding the cybersecurity attacks on Canvas, a national learning software, that occurred just days before commencement.
The data breach resulted in the university canceling finals on Friday, May 8.
Instructure, the parent company of Canvas, reached a deal with ShinyHunters, which said it was responsible for the hack, but details of that agreement have not been released at this time. All stolen data was allegedly deleted…
