Man accused of leading Macomb County police chase with child in car to spend less than a year in jail

MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – A Detroit man who pleaded no contest after police said he drove drunk, led Warren officers on a chase and crashed while his 9-year-old son was in the car was sentenced to jail on Wednesday.

Otez Coil was charged with fourth-degree child abuse, operating while intoxicated, second-degree fleeing and eluding and driving with a suspended license.

Warren officers were on patrol near Van Dyke and Civic Center Boulevard at around 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 16 when they saw a Jeep Cherokee speeding and making abrupt lane changes without signaling.
