Stones River National Battlefield plans to mark a three-day observance of Memorial Day, highlighted by a ceremony honoring the more than 7,100 people buried there.
On Saturday, May 23, volunteers are asked to meet at the site’s visitors center at 9:30 a.m. Flags will be placed at every stone in the cemetery. Volunteers should apply in advance at https://forms.office.com.
A commemoration is set for Sunday, May 24 at 1:30 p.m. at the rostrum inside the cemetery. Visitors should bring their own chairs…
