San Francisco man sentenced to 10 years for meth and firearm offenses

SAN FRANCISCO, California — Kiet Ly, a 46-year-old resident of San Francisco, has been sentenced to ten years in federal prison for drug and firearm offenses.

Senior U.S. District Judge Charles R. Breyer delivered the sentence after Ly pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute over 50 grams of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm and ammunition as a felon. Ly was indicted by a federal grand jury on September 9, 2025, and entered his guilty plea on December 10, 2025, according to a press release from the United States Attorney’s Office.

The plea agreement revealed that Ly admitted to a prior felony conviction on September 21, 2016, for possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine.
