Montgomery man charged after high-speed chase, crash

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – A Montgomery man is facing multiple charges after a high-speed chase that ended in two crashes, one involving injuries, according to court documents.

Starkeyvon Powell, 19, of Montgomery, is charged with receiving stolen property, leaving the scene of an accident involving injury, possession of marijuana, attempting to elude police, and illegal possession of a firearm.

On May 13 around 2:45 p.m., Powell was seen driving a stolen car on Federal Drive near Atlanta Highway.

About five minutes later, he was seen speeding on Oak Forest Drive. Law enforcement tried to stop him, but he fled and a chase ensued, court documents say…
