1 hurt after 2 shootings break out in Laurel, police investigating

LAUREL, Md. (DC News Now) — One person was hurt after two shootings broke out in Laurel on Friday, according to the Laurel Police Department.

It all started at 2:36 p.m. when officers were alerted to shots being fired after an altercation broke out between two groups of juveniles in Discovery Park, located in the 1100 block of Harrison Drive.

According to police, a boy was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm and was taken to a local trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries.
