Shelter-in-place lifted after APD SWAT response in NE Austin; suspect in custody

AUSTIN, Texas — Austin police lifted a shelter-in-place order Friday afternoon after a SWAT response in a Northeast Austin neighborhood ended with one person in custody.

According to the Austin Police Department, officers first announced around 5:03 p.m. that they were responding to an incident in the 6900 block of Blessing Avenue. Police instructed residents in the surrounding area to shelter in place while APD SWAT officers responded to the scene.
