Festivalgoers pick up free Narcan as EDC kicks off in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — As hundreds of thousands of people arrived in Las Vegas for the Electric Daisy Carnival, local organizations and nonprofits spent the start of EDC weekend focused on drug overdose prevention, handing out free Narcan and fentanyl test strips to festivalgoers.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., groups distributed the supplies at the Westgate casino as EDC drew attendees from across the country for more than 200 electronic music performances.

One festivalgoer described the atmosphere at EDC, saying, “It’s not like every other festival. I think this one is one of the best. Everyone takes care of each other, we’re all here to have a good time.”…
