TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A class action lawsuit was filed by six former Spirit employees against the airline, claiming that it failed to give proper layoff notice after unexpectedly shutting down earlier this month.

But the new lawsuit alleges that Spirit failed to provide employees with at least 60 days advance notice of termination, citing failure to do so as a direct violation of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act of 1988.
