AUSTIN, Texas — Austin police are asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects connected to multiple elderly fraud cases that investigators say resulted in victims losing more than $70,000.
According to the Austin Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, newly submitted evidence links a female suspect previously identified in a fraud investigation to another theft that occurred Feb. 25 at the Randalls grocery store located at 5311 Balcones Drive.
Investigators said the victim was shopping when the suspect allegedly stole a wallet from the victim’s purse. Police said the suspect, along with a male person of interest, later went to Chase Bank, Wells Fargo, and Best Buy, where they defrauded the victim out of more than $50,000…
