Parkinson’s Foundation hosts ‘Moving Day’ to raise donations

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Dozens made it out to North Domingo Baca Park to walk for a good cause. The Parkinson’s Foundation held a Moving Day to get Albuquerque residents out and about to raise money for the disease. This year’s event honored Patricia Ruybal, who is a massage therapist and vocal advocate for people living with Parkinson’s, and Nicole Gallegos, who is a licensed speech-language pathologist who helps those living with the disease.

Event coordinators said that other events across the state have proven to be successful. “Today is great! They’re looking to raise about $45-46K, so it’s within reach of their goal to reach $50K. Santa Fe was very successful, but nothing compares to albuqeurque,’ said Robin Rhea, Parkinson’s Moving Day Coordinator.
