RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A pedestrian was struck by a truck on Interstate 840 Friday night after exiting his vehicle following a separate crash, according to officials.
According to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, around 9 p.m. Friday, May 15, a man’s vehicle was involved in a single-car crash along Interstate 840 West in Rutherford County. He reportedly got out of the vehicle and crossed the median. As he entered the eastbound lanes near mile marker 59, he was struck by a 1999 GMC Sierra. After the GMC hit the man, its driver–a 16-year-old Tennessee boy–swerved onto the right shoulder and hit a rock embankment.
The 16-year-old was injured in the crash, and he was wearing his seatbelt at the time. He is not facing charges in connection with the incident…
