When it comes down to the wire, even a great effort isn’t always good enough.
Thursday through Saturday, the Blue Devils traveled west to Louisville, Kentucky, for the ACC Outdoor Championships, bringing home four individual event titles and 38 All-ACC honors. Despite putting up an impressive 96-point total, the women placed runner-up after a close, meet-long battle, losing the title to Clemson by a mere three points. The men placed fifth overall with 78 points, headlined by individual gold medals from senior Matt Prebola and sophomore Andres Langston.
“The women competed well,” head coach Shawn Wilbourn said. “You’ve got to take your hat off to Clemson, they stepped up too. It was anybody’s meet between us and Clemson all the way to the end.”…
