High-dollar meat thief arrested, charged: Police

CLAYTON, Mo. – An accused high-dollar meat thief used stolen totes to purloin beef tenderloin and other products from the Crestwood Sam’s Club earlier this year, according to police.

Damonte J. Walton (age not provided) targeted the Sam’s Club on Big Bend Road at least three times between Jan. 19 and March 14, according to the the Crestwood Police Department’s probable cause statement.

Police said Walton stole bulk quantities of beef tenderloin, leg of lamb, rack of lamb, and candy packages. He used black-and-yellow totes to hide the stolen goods before leaving the store. Walton would leave the store using his shopping cart like a scooter, pushing himself forward with his foot…
