Wichita becomes home to third ATF forensic crime gun intelligence lab

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A ribbon cutting was held on Monday for the new ATF Forensic Crime Gun Intelligence Laboratory at Wichita State University.

The new lab expands the agency’s national forensic capacity when it comes to examining gun related crime evidence. The idea is to deliver faster results to investigators nationwide.

The lab will also serve as a training center for the next generation of forensic professionals. Students at WSU will have the chance to train alongside professionals in a real-world setting, which will create a direct path to employment…
