Fifteen disabled hunters participated in the SRS Ultimate Turkey Hunt at the Savannah River Site. The two-day event wrapped up on May 12. Participants and their escorts roamed 90,000 acres of woods during this annual program.
Several groups worked together to organize the hunt: the United States Forest Service, the National Nuclear Security Administration, Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, the National Wild Turkey Federation, and the Outdoor Dream Foundation. This program gives access to people who might struggle to get outdoors.
