DA: Armed robbery, carjacking suspect sentenced up to 7 years in prison

BUNCOMBE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – An Asheville man pleaded guilty to charges related to an armed robbery and carjacking back in August 2025.

The Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office said 21-year-old Theodore Anthony Brooks pleaded guilty to the charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Brooks was sentenced to up to 7 years in prison for the robbery conviction, and a concurrent term of up to 14 months for the firearm offense. He also admitted to and activated outstanding probation violations, according to the district attorney’s office.

Back in February 2025, Brooks was convicted of felony common law robbery, meaning he is unable to possess a firearm under North Carolina law, the district attorney’s office said…
