ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Downtown Asheville business owners are calling for more proactive police presence and long-term safety solutions after Asheville police confirmed officers used pepperballs to disperse a large crowd on Banks Avenue early Sunday morning.
The incident happened around 2 a.m. near several nightlife businesses in one of downtown Asheville’s growing entertainment corridors.
