Man convicted of 2022 home invasion in Port Allen sentenced to 35 years

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A man found guilty in connection with a home invasion in 2022 was sentenced to 35 and a half years in prison on Monday.

According to the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, Craig Washington, 42, of Opelousas, was found guilty by a West Baton Rouge jury on Feb. 25 on charges.

Judge Tonya Lurry sentenced Washington to 28 years for the home invasion charge and seven and a half years for the possession of a firearm by a felon charge…
